FAQ

{FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS}

Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the photographing process. So that you’re prepared for the process, I recommend reading below as there may be some unanswered questions you need clarification on.

  • WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?

The sooner the better. I photograph for the artistic outlet it provides and freelance only on weekends, so availability may be limited depending on the time of year. So the sooner you can reach out with some options is great!

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY PORTRAITS?

Ask me for my Session Preparation Tips form if you’d like helpful pointers.

It includes the TOP Trending Colors for the Season along with many other helpful tips.

  • WHEN IS THE IDEAL TIME TO TAKE MATERNITY PHOTOS?

I’ve found that anything before 32 weeks does not quite capture the beauty of your belly as a later term shoot would. The closer to your due date the better. Ideally 34 weeks to 36 weeks if possible. Let me know if you pregnancy is high risk and we’ll schedule a plan that fits best with your doctors orders.

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY MATERNITY SESSIONS?

You will want to be prepared with alternate outfits. Try to stick to solid color clothing (dark and lights). Strapless flowing cotton/poly/spandex fabric blends are comfortable materials while hugging to the body to show off your beautiful baby bump.

  • WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP PREPARE MY CHILD FOR A PHOTO SESSION?

I ask that your children be well rested, fed and in good spirits. Please feel free to bring a favorite toy or music to the session to help them relax. Also, remember snacks just in case the session runs long. If your child is not feeling well I advise that you reschedule your session, so that we can capture your child at their best. I also prefer that only the parents come to the shoot as to not have too many distractions; distractions can limit the success of the session.

  • WHY DO YOU REQUIRE 2 HOUR MINIMUM SESSIONS?

“You can’t rush perfection” as my mom use to always say:) Really though, taking natural un-posed pictures takes time. Both children and adults need time to connect with the photographer so they feel at ease during the shoot and for their personality to come through on camera.

  • CAN I PICK THE LOCATION FOR MY SESSION?

Of course! As an “on location” freelance photographer, I am more than happy to travel to the sight of your choice or ask me for my recommendations too. (Areas outside of King County are subject to mileage rates).

  • HOW LONG ARE MY IMAGES ARCHIVED ONLINE?

Your digital images will be archived for minimum of 3 months in your password protected album.

  • DO I GET TO KEEP MY DIGITAL NEGATIVES?

What is unique about my services is that I do not require you to purchase your digital negatives in addition to your sitting fee. All of my sessions are all inclusive that features a download zipfile of your hi-res images along with a copyright release form for you to reproduce as you please. You can also purchase professional prints off of your online viewing album (developed at professional Labs) if it’s more convenient. If you request a DVD copy, that can be purchased separately.

  • WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

Portrait session you will be asked to pay the remainder of the session fee the day of the shoot.  Gift Certificate payments are due at time of purchase and are valid for 2 years.
